Frequently Asked Questions
What types of fencing posts do you supply?
We offer two main treatment types: Brown Long Life Posts and Green Treated Posts. We manufacture machined round posts, rough round posts, strainers and deer fencing in both treatment types and we also manufacture incised machined rounds in brown. Each type is designed for different fencing needs and durability requirements.
What is the difference between Brown Long Life and Green Treated posts?
Brown Long Life posts are kiln dried and premium treated for maximum lifespan, while Green Treated posts are standard pressure-treated and ideal for general, everyday fencing projects.
What are Rough Round and Incized posts?
Rough Round posts are peeled, uneven, and natural-looking, while Incized posts are smooth, straight ‘pencil posts’ treated with small incisions to improve preservative absorption.
Are your posts grant approved?
Yes — many of our Brown Long Life posts are Grant Approved under IS436. You can view the certification through our Grant Approved Certificate Link on the website.
Do you provide different sizes and types within each product range?
Absolutely. Each range includes options such as intermediate posts, strainers, deer fencing posts, rough rounds, machine rounds, and more depending on the category.
What Are Rough Rounds, Machined Rounds And Incised Posts?
Rough Round posts are peeled, uneven, and natural-looking, while Machined Rounds and Incised Posts are smooth, straight ‘pencil posts’. Incised have the added extra of being treated with small incisions to improve preservative absorption.
How long do your timber posts typically last?
Our posts are professionally treated for durability. Brown Long Life posts and Incised Brown posts offer the longest lifespan of over 15 years. While Green Treated Rough Round and Machined Rounds have a more limited lifespan, they are also designed to withstand Ireland’s weather conditions when installed correctly.
